CAMPGROUNDS

Although an enjoyable activity for many, camping in Wasaga Beach is not typical as there is no "wilderness". Our campgrounds are infringed upon by residential neighbourhoods, restaurants, malls and main roads. They could hardly be considered private or quiet or wild. Yet, there are a few camp sites which look and feel very park-like.  You must be prepared to douse your fire at 1:00 a.m. and keep the noise down at all times of day. You aren't going to be out in the woods. That doesn't stop anyone from having fun.

There are several campgrounds in Wasaga Beach. Two are located in the extreme west (at Hwy 26) and at the East end of town - technically called Beach 1, but a considerable walking distance from the actual beach.

Campgrounds on the east side are walking distance from everything. It's a bit of an unusual vacation for sure but it's inexpensive and fun. Park the car and enjoy the beach without spending a fortune.

The West end campgrounds (Jell-E-Bean and Cedar Grove) are close to a quiet, sandy beach. These campgrounds are very well treed and lovely to look at but you will hear traffic noise coming from Hwy 26. Still, they are extremely convenient if you like to mix your camping with an afternoon trip to the beach, or to Collingwood or Blue Mountain. There's no need to rough it all day is there? ;)
