Councillor Rick Archdekin is suing Councillor Connie Gray and the Town of Wasaga Beach over some disputed property. Original story here on the Simcoe.com website. Of course, I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how this works if and when it comes before council. When asked if anyone on council has a conflict to declare.... do all hands go up? Today I took a stroll on the beach just down the street from my house. I was really surprised to see how the beach has changed this year. One of the things I like to tell visitors is that they shouldn't assume that what they remember from a few years ago will apply today. Wasaga Beach is like a living, breathing entity. It changes - drastically, almost every year. I have been shocked some years to see how vastly different the beach can look from one year to the next.
There has been so much bad press lately about the Levy Brothers and the fate of the businesses they bought en masse at Beach Area 1. Perhaps that's why there has been less attention on the good things that are happening here. For instance, we finally have a coffee shop and bakery which serves some decent espresso and yummy deserts. I had the opportunity to stop in to the Kokomo Beanz which is located next to Giant Tiger (826 Mosley Street). There is a variety of fresh looking pies and cakes as well as cookies, biscotti, muffins and lunch items like quiche and soup.
Put your hands over your eyes children. File this one under the "what the f___? category.
