Wasaga Beach At Your Service: Pizza Dee's

Pizza Dee's has been serving the residents and visitors of Wasaga Beach for as long as I can remember. Long before we had a McDonald's, Boston Pizza, Wild Wing or Topper's Pizza. What has made this little independent pizza restaurant so enduring? It might be that owners Deb and Andy, who have always gone out of their way to provide a good product at an affordable price. I can list you a bunch of cliche answers like that but in my mind it is the fact that Deb and Andy have reached icon status in Wasaga Beach. They began with the Pizza Delight Franchise but broke off and decided that the best way to serve the public was to be able to make important decisions without checking in with a corporation. When you taste their pizza you will be glad they took this step.

Throughout this site I have talked about some of the memories I have as a travelling musician. I came here as a musician and was offered the house gig for 3 summers in a row at the Dyconia. Andy and Deb used to set up a table at the end of the night and catch all the inebriated, and very hungry patrons as they left for home. But for Rick and myself the pizza was always on the house. I protested saying that I would be happy to pay for a slice now and then but in the back of my mind I knew it wasn't true. Musician's make squat and these little kindnesses matter greatly. So here it is, 20 years later and I'm still telling the story of the delicious, hot, free pizza we used to get from Pizza Dee's. You can't buy that kind of advertising because since then, I have always been quick to recommend them. Not just because they gave me a few slices of pizza at no charge, but because the pizza was to-die-for delicious! Served up hot and fresh, it stands up to any pizza I've had anywhere, and that includes the famous Montreal style pizza that Quebecers are so proud of. 

Pizza Dee's does deliver to many parts of Wasaga Beach but unfortunately for me, my far west side address is sometimes a strain for their drivers (often Andy or Deb themselves). Call them to ask about delivery in your area.
