Wasaga Beach, May 16, 2012 – WBSFF (Wasaga Beach Short Film Festival), is currently accepting entries for its second annual Short Film Festival. All entries that are submitted and postmarked by October 15, 2012 will be included in the 2012 festival competition. There are no entry fees.

25 Quilts Donated To Lions Camp Dorset

QuiltsThe Slope to Shore Quilters Guild has donated 25 quilts to the Lion's Club of Wasaga Beach.

The Slope to Shore Quilters Guild was formed over 13 years ago in Collingwood.  They met in several locations and moved to Wasaga Beach 2 years ago. Funds are donated to their club to purchase material.  They also receive donations from Northcot Silk in Toronto.  Recently, the owner of Maw T’s in Stayner passed away and her daughter donated all the materials from the store to this club so that they can make beautiful works of art for people who are in need.

Lion's Club Goes Green

Lion's Club Plants TreesThe Wasaga Beach Lions Club recently took part in a Lions Green Team initiative to help the environment by providing $1,000 for the 2nd Wasaga Beach Scouts to plant 850 trees in the Lamont Creek area. This project has given our club an opportunity to improve the environment while working in conjunction with the youth.

Telephone Scammer Gets Tongue-Tied

The identity thieves called my home 3 times in an attempt to convince me that they were representatives of Microsoft and that I should download a file which would help them fix the many viruses which they had detected in my computer.
