Your EcoAdventure Tour Begins.....
First, you gather with your group in our grand log cabin at the top of the ravine. Here you are fitted with all the gear necessary to take this extraordinary journey, including a helmet and a harness rigged with safety ropes.
After an introduction to the adventure ahead, you'll hike down to cross the 415 ft., suspension bridge that spans the ravine, pausing to take in the magnificent view down Blue Mountain to Collingwood and across Georgian Bay.
.... At The Canopy Walk, Your Tour Continues
with a climb up a wooden stairway to the first tree-top platform. After clipping your safety lines to the overhead cables, you take your first tentative steps in your trek in the canopy. From here the walkway swoops and climbs, as the ground drops to 20, 40 and finally 50 feet below. Every step is an adventure, as the walkway sways and dips to your footsteps. Each airborne walkway spans two sturdy hardwoods - a course of 16 trees in all.
Soon enough there's time to relax and take in a unique squirrel's-eye view of the flor and fauna of the 200 year old forest around you. Along the way, you gather on tree-top platforms to learn the ancient, geological history of the area with is part of a UNESCO world biosphere reserve. Looking down at the forest from such a privileged point of view, you see the trees in an entirely new way, revealing their geometry and the hidden order of nature.
.... Ending With A Spectacular, Flying Finish!
At the end of your tree-top journey, it's time to begin your adrenaline - pumping, 300 foot vertical drop, from the very top of the Escarpment, back to where your tree-top adventures began. As you hurtle over the pond, and the once tiny, far off cabin begins to rapidly fill your field of vision, you will be treated to fabulous, birds-eye-views of Blue Mountain and Georgian Bay.
Safely back at the cabin, at the end of your tree-top tour, you explore the ancient caves and crevasses that were once home to the indigenous Huron natives, hundreds of years earlier. Exhilarated by your high-flying activities, it's time to unwind, and share tales of the trek with your fellow adventurers.
