Food Like Your Mother Made
Lucia Ferrazzo, or Lucy as most people around here have come to call her has become an icon of Wasaga Beach. Having served the Wasaga Beach community since 1985, locals here know that the mid-town location offers the best in home-made Italian fare. In a town that has several pizza and Italian food restaurants, the Little Marina has managed to survive not only because they serve excellent homemade authentic†food at reasonable prices, but because Lucy makes you feel like you are one of the family each and every time you visit.†
The fare is typical for an Italian food restaurant. You'll find an array of pasta offerings, pizza which you can build yourself from a variety of fresh ingredients, Italian sandwiches piled high. Lucy makes it a point to make her Caesar dressing from scratch. She's very proud of the quality that this attention to detail brings. A table next to ours couldn't resist blurting out "you absolutely must try the bruschscetta!"† How can one ignore such an enthusiastic recommendation from a complete stranger?
The prices are completely reasonable and you won't walk away hungry. Don't forget to add a real Italian cappuccino (made without the expected "big sigh" you get from servers in other restaurants).† We are told that you absolutely must try the pizza and/or the pasta dishes.† They are the specialty of the house.†

Other offerings include: an array of soups; Zuppa alla Sante (Leaf lettuce with mini meatballs), Stracciatella Soup (Chicken soup with egg), hot sandwiches (Italian sausage, veal, meatball and steak). Deli sandwiches which you can eat in or take out. Pastas include: Cannelloni, Ravioli, Spaghetti, Gnocchi and more!
Prices are very reasonable, especially when one is used to dining at the Mountain, or even in Collingwood. The atmosphere is beach casual but shirts and shoes are expected if for no other reason than to please the health inspector. Floors, countertops and tables are immaculately clean throughout, and Lucy has done some very nice upgrades in the past few years. Long time fans may remember that the Little Marina once looked like a take-out restaurant but now it has more of a fine dining feel with the muted tan walls, and warm colour scheme.†

A trip to Wasaga Beach just wouldn't be complete if you don't go to the Little Marina at least once during your visit.† For residents who have passed the location over and over again wondering if it is worth as stop - I'm telling you it is. You should not be disappointed.†
Our only warning is that you must not be in a hurry. Good food takes time to make. Lucy is in her 70's and although she has the energy of a woman much younger, she works hard to make sure your meal is as good as the one you remember from your last visit. Quality requires patience.†
Lucy tells me that breakfast is available before noon. She is†
Finally, there is a small kid's menu if you are planning to bring the little ones. Tiny orders of spaghetti, or ravioli ought to keep the small members of your family smiling through sauce stained faces.†
