Slide Puzzle
Nancy Island Historic Site

Nancy Island was not always an island.

In fact, the Island was formed after a British ship called "Nancy" was destroyed in August of 1814 during a war called "The War of 1812".  The ship sank in the Nottawasaga River and part of it remains there today.
The sunken Nancy acted like a beaver's dam trapping mud and river silt until it formed its own little island. Now there is a beautiful park with grass and trees and even a museum and theatre surrounding the remains of the ship.
It's as if the Nancy wanted to remind us always that she and her crew fought for future generations.
This slide puzzle is a picture of the building that houses and protects the remains of the hull of the Schooner Nancy and some interesting and very old artifacts from the War of 1812.
