The L/MAC Marine Burglar Alarm System has been made in Canada since 1990 and is designed by Tantyme Engineering for you and your slip neighbours as well as the intruder you want to deter. It uses the effective infrared (heat differential sensing) technology found in commercial systems with the simplicity of installation and operation that boaters want.  Feel more comfortable on or off your boat; if someone should board while you sleep, you will be warned; when you are not there, the combination of horns/sirens and flashing lights makes this unit even more effective at night when most break-ins occur.  Many Marinas would rather collect expensive repair bills from you and your insurance company than offer you and alarm system. L/MAC costs less than most deductibles and, more than likely, any comparable system you have considered because we make it, and distribute it directly to our clients worldwide.

. The L/MAC2 is an easily installed, compact, 12VDC, infrared (IR) electronic alarm system designed for power or sail. There are no battery back-up replacements or space concerns to worry about. Low power, plastic cases and coated boards virtually eliminate corrosion of vital parts. The Control incorporates exit, entry, automatic shut-off and reset timing, plus self test and alarm memory functions. On-Off is via a small keyless security switch. The unique 2-wire "movement tuned" detectors designed to accommodate conditions that commercial units false alarm on, cover cabins, camper top and even open areas without the wiring and reset problems associated with mats or contacts. During alarms, boat horns (or sirens) and lights are pulsed; 1.5mA standby; even with 4 detectors, ensures operation at slip, anchor or storage without shore power. The basic system with control, detector, wire, fuse, warning labels, and detailed instructions is less than insurance deductibles.
